Tennis ‘Cats compete in ITA Regionals

BLOOMSBURG, Pa.– The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s tennis team wrapped up the weekend (Sept. 16-19) at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships with a pair of singles wins by Kihiro Karasawa and a doubles win alongside Emanuel Mallya.

Kiriho Karasawa began his success after a victory over Pablo Guillen from Salem University. Kiro then advanced to the round of 32 bracket in which he would go on to defeat Luis Agullo Diaz Munio from Bluefield State College.

“Kihiro was the one who had the most success,” head coach Kyle Hoffman said. “He played very well in his round of 16 match but cramped being up 5-2 in the second set which ultimately caused him to be knocked out in singles.”
