State Police arrest triple murder suspect in Davis, W.Va.

A man wanted for three counts of murder in Maryland was arrested in Davis on Friday, according to a press release from the West Virginia State Police.

“On October 1, 2021 Trooper J. J. Cornelius was dispatched to Davis, W.Va. in reference to a suspicious male subject,” according to the release. “Trooper Cornelius located and identified the male as 46-year-old Jefferey Allen Burnham of Cumberland, Maryland. Trooper Cornelius discovered Jefferey Burnham was wanted for three counts of murder in the State of Maryland.”

Burnham was found with a stolen vehicle and firearm.

“Jefferey Burnham was arrested for the murder of Rebecca Reynolds, 83, of Cumberland, Maryland; Brian Robinette, 58, of Ellicott City, Maryland; and Kelly Robinette, 57, of Ellicott City, Maryland,” according to the release. “Jefferey Burnham was also found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle and a firearm.”

The suspect is being held without bond in Tygart Valley Regional Jail, awaiting extradition.

“Trooper Cornelius conducted follow up investigation and collected evidence, which was turned over to law enforcement officials in Maryland,” the release states. “Following his arrest, Jefferey Burnham was transported to Tygart Valley Regional Jail, where he is currently being held awaiting extradition back to Maryland. This investigation remains active and ongoing.”
