St. Joseph’s Hospital in need of homemade masks for long-term care residents and staff

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — St. Joseph’s Hospital is in need of homemade masks for staff and long-term care residents. New guidelines for nursing home residents from CMS recommend nursing home residents wear a cloth mask when interacting with nursing staff.

Masks are also needed for our security officers, cafeteria workers, cashiers and other staff not in direct patient care.  If you have masks you would like to donate, the hospital has a collection site located at the yellow triage tent outside St. Joseph’s Hospital Emergency Room.  Simply drive up and staff there will be happy to help you.

If you would like to be recognized for your donation, the hospital would love to do so.  Please contact Lisa Wharton at Lisa.Wharton1@wvumedicine.org or 304-473-2138 to arrange for recognition for your mask donation.

For instructions on making masks, go to https://youtu.be/VNvRl5AXt8I. St. Joseph’s Hospital thanks you for all you do to support local healthcare workers at this time.
