Residents living with foot and ankle pain can find specialized care close to home through Vandalia Health Foot & Ankle, part of the regional health system formerly known as Davis Health System. The service sees patients at four locations — Buckhannon, Cowen, Elkins, and Philippi.
The service is part of a system with deep roots in the region: Davis Medical Center in Elkins traces its history to the 1903 founding of Davis Memorial Hospital and recently added a 75,000-square-foot expansion to streamline access to specialty physician services. Alongside its three hospitals, the system runs a network of outpatient and specialty centers — including the Total Therapy Center and community medical offices — so care is available in the towns where patients live.
That regional footprint grew further through Davis Health System’s 2023 integration with Vandalia Health, West Virginia’s second-largest not-for-profit health network. The Davis facilities took on the Vandalia Health name in 2025 while continuing to serve central West Virginia under local leadership.
