St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrates Surgical Technologist Week

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – St. Joseph’s Hospital is recognizing its Surgical Technologists during National Surgical Technologist Week, September 15 through 21.

The week has been designated by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) to celebrate and honor the profession.  It began by a resolution adopted by the AST Board of Directors in 1984.

The week recognizes the hard work that they do in the operating room to ensure patient safety and operating efficiency.

“Our Surgical Technologists are the true unsung heroes in the operating room,’ said Kevin Stingo, RN, Director of Perioperative Services at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
