BUCKHANNON, WV –The St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary presented Madison Elizabeth Wamsley with a $750 scholarship award from their 2020-2021 year. Wamsley attended Buckhannon-Upshur High School where she was involved in Student Government, Student Council and was on the National Honor Society Dean’s list.
She had also served as a Junior Volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital and serves six hours a week in Community Service through her Service Scholarship. She worked with Special Olympics during her freshman year at West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) where she is enrolled in their health care curriculum. She was on the Dean’s list at WVWC and plans to become a Registered Nurse.
The Auxiliary awards scholarships to students who are planning on pursuing a career in a medical field or have already begun their studies in a health-related field. Students must have a GPA of 3.5 and demonstrate excellence in character, academics and leadership.
