Wesleyan was picked fifth in the MEC South Division preseason baseball poll, which ranked Charleston first and was compiled from votes by the conference’s 11 head coaches.

Frostburg State was picked preseason favorite in the 2026 Mountain East Conference women’s lacrosse poll, receiving five first-place votes while West Virginia Wesleyan was picked sixth.

West Virginia Wesleyan rolled past Salem 91-75 behind 23 points from Adrijus Janciauskas, 50 second-half points, 13 three-pointers, and a dominant defense that forced 20 turnovers.

West Virginia Wesleyan used a dominant second quarter, balanced scoring led by Ana Young’s 22 points, and strong rebounding to defeat Salem 83-59, improving to 11-4.

Buckhannon-Upshur remained eighth in the WVSACA Class AAAA poll this week at 8-5 despite losing twice last week to ranked opponents and having its next game postponed by weather.

The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Bucs will host Grafton on Feb. 10 at 7:15 p.m. for a Pink Out game, debuting new pink uniforms and recognizing breast cancer and cancer survivors.

Emma Witt scored 26 points on 10-of-11 shooting as West Virginia Wesleyan dominated Davis & Elkins 92-60, outrebounding and forcing turnovers while four players scored in double figures to lift the Lady Bobcats to 10-4.
