Special Olympics of Upshur County recently participated in the Special Olympics West Virginia state bowling tournament.
The tournament was held in Charleston on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6-7. Twenty-two Upshur County athletes competed in singles and doubles events over the weekend, with several earning gold, silver and bronze medals.
“We had a wonderful turnout throughout the state and a great weekend with these athletes,” said Dion Wamsley, director of Special Olympics of Upshur County.
Wamsley thanked the organization’s coaches, Amy White and Patsy Howells, as well as chaperones Kathleen Neetz, Nathan Ledsome, Judy Baer, Brenda Thompson, Stacy Ogden and Elma Robinson.
