Soccer Lady ‘Cats get blanked by Charleston, 3-0

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Wesleyan (6-6-2, 6-5-1) women’s soccer team fell on the road at Charleston (10-4-0, 9-3-0) by a final score of 3-0 on Sunday at the Welch Athletic Complex. 

Keira Hill dragged a shot into the bottom right corner of the net during the 12th minute for an early 1-0 Charleston lead.

The Golden Eagles struck again in the 15th minute on a breakaway when Hill drilled the ball into the top right corner for a 2-0 advantage. In the 41st minute, Sydney Cavender scored as the Golden Eagles led 3-0 at halftime.

UC outshot WVWC by a 12-2 margin over the course of the game.

The Lady Bobcats will travel to the Charleston area again for a road match at West Virginia State on Wednesday.

Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
