Soccer ‘Cats get shutout by Notre Dame College, 5-0

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Wesleyan (6-7-2, 4-7-2) men’s soccer team took on Notre Dame (Ohio) (8-3-2, 7-3-2) in Mountain East Conference action on Wednesday and dropped a 5-0 decision.
 
In the first half, Ned Dry scored on the Marcus Vinicius Pereria cross in the 10th minute.

NDC did not look back after taking the early advantage.

Fifteen minutes later, after Logan Nelson initially stopped the Ailton Silva shot, a failed clearance attempt found the head of Filip Sparavec, who deposited the ball past Nelson for the 2-0 lead.
 
Taylor Dyson extended the Falcon lead in the 33rd minute and Lukas Hackaa scored in the 43rd minute making it a 4-0 contest at the half.
 
WVWC’s offensive miscues continued into the second half against a strong Falcon backline.

Notre Dame’s Kane Bartholomew scored on a penalty kick for Notre Dame in the 62nd minute.
 
The Bobcats remain at home for the Halloween showdown on Sunday against West Liberty at 7 p.m.
