Shirley McCord

Shirley McCord passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the age of 90.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mike Craven, who was killed in World War II; her mother, Mildred Brunette; stepfather, Frank Brunette; daughter-in-law, Camella McCord; and her husband of over 50 years, Junior McCord.

She is survived by sons, Steve McCord of Parkersburg, WV, and Brian McCord of Buckhannon, WV; granddaughter, Katie Cooper (Todd) of Vienna, WV; grandson, Payton McCord of Morgantown, WV; and great-granddaughter, Camella Cooper of Vienna.

Shirley had a great group of friends that supported each other for over 50 years, including Shirley Mason, Arletta Mick, Betty Jo Rovello, Dixie Kennedy, Mary Stump, and her dominoes partner, Darlene Hinkle.

She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and was an avid fan of WVU sports and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The family would like to thank the staff at Serenity Care Home and private caregiver Anita Delahunt.

Friends will be received for a graveside service on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
