Shirley Ann McDaniels

Shirley Ann McDaniels, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, November 30, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 26, 1940, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Thomas Isaac and Glendean Zickefoose Miller. On July 23, 1960, she married Carl McDaniels who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Rodney McDaniels of Evans, GA and Randy McDaniels and wife Carol of Evans; one daughter, Kathy Harkins of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren, Ella McDaniels and wife Shelby of Greenville, SC, Andrew McDaniels of Denver, CO, Zachary McDaniels and wife Brooke of Evans, James Posey and wife Grace of Monticello, GA, Alexander Posey of Savannah, GA, Joshua Harkins of Sandy Springs, GA, Marissa Barton and husband Craig of Winder, GA and Samuel Harkins of Atlanta, GA; three great-grandchildren, Knox and Mason McDaniels both of Evans and Esmé Posey of Monticello; one sister, Linda Gibbons of Manassas, VA and one brother, Jonnie Miller of Buckhannon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, David Harkins; three brothers, Richard, Toby and Pat Miller and one sister, Susie Kincaid Post.

Mrs. McDaniels was a homemaker who loved antiques, collectibles and animals. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Belinda Hayhurst, Lydia Ward and Rhonda Cerullo for their loving care.

A private graveside service was held for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewis-Upshur Animal Shelter in Shirley’s memory.
