Ruth V. Gregory Davidson, age 94, of Buckhannon, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital NCF in Buckhannon.
She was born on March 5, 1929, in Gregorytown, WV, a daughter of the late Jesse Miller Gregory and Ada Missouri Sines Gregory. On October 16, 1948, she was united in marriage to Russell Ray Davidson, who preceded her in death on October 20, 2018. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son Ronnie Davidson; three brothers: Dailey Gregory, Dallas Gregory, and an infant brother; two sisters: Edith Rice and Iva Strader; and her stepmother Edna Johns Gregory. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a Methodist by faith. She was a talented quilter and in previous years, was a member of the Richwood Methodist Quilting Group and also enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Cleveland Indians.
The body will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM, at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel where a memorial service will begin at 12:30 PM with Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made for extra activities for the residents at St. Joseph’s Hospital NCF, care of Ovella Godfrey, Activities Director, 1 Amalia Dr. Buckhannon, WV 26201.
