Ruth Ann Queen

Ruth Ann Queen, 95, of Buckhannon, W.Va., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at Mansfield Place in Philippi, W.Va.

Ruth was born on September 11, 1923, in St. Paul, Minn., to the late Wesley and Jennie Hane Cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband Myron McCall Queen; daughter, Carolyn June Myers and brother, Archie Cook.

Mrs. Queen is survived by sons, Gary N. and wife Laura Queen of Buckhannon, Rodney M. Queen of Beckley, W.Va., Wesley C. and wife Cindi Queen of Madison, N.C. and Myron Wayne and wife Pamela Queen of Buckhannon; daughters, Cherie Ann Queen of West Milford, W.Va. and Teresa Christine and husband Butch Slaubaugh of Montrose, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and sister, Carol Roaldson of Bismarck, N.D.

Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time in her flower garden. When you visited Ruth at her home you were almost certain to get a personal tour and clippings from her garden. She was a Christian and a member of Macedonia Church where she enjoyed singing hymns and had many friends.

At Ruth’s request, cremation will be honored with no service. Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate her life.
