BUCKHANNON — Create Buckhannon hosted its annual elimination dinner Friday night at the Event Center at Brushy Fork.

Each year, the fundraiser supports Festival Fridays and a variety of other community improvement projects. This year’s dinner — themed the “Roaring Twenties” — featured a costume contest.

While some people came in casual attire, others opted to dress the part of flappers from the Roaring Twenties. Pictured, from left, are Elissa Mills and Michelle Caynor.

Karen Leigh, who collected $1,000, was the evening’s big winner. Although the amount raised is still yet to be determined, Create member Melodie Stemple said the dinner usually grosses about $5,800.
