Patricia Ann Helmick

Patricia Ann Helmick, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, September 9, 2023, at her home.

She was born February 21, 1938,  in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Leon and Anna Virginia Crawford Ervin. 

On September 7, 1957, she married Bobby Helmick who survives of Buckhannon. Also surviving are three daughters, Brenda Oldaker and husband Jerry of Buckhannon, Tina Dennis and husband Daniel of St. Mary’s, WV and Debbie Patterson and husband Jeff of Buckhannon; one son, Bobby Helmick, II and wife Ginny of Charleston, WV; six grandchildren, Megan Bailey and companion, Scott Adams of Buckhannon, Christopher Oldaker of Buckhannon, Matthew Dennis of Charleston, Brian Dennis and wife Erin of Indian Head, MD, Whitney Dean and husband Chris of Buckhannon and Zachary Patterson and companion Kayla Kelley of Buckhannon; eight great-grandchildren, Cody and Colin Bailey, Taegan, Connor, Lucas and Makenna Oldaker, Bryer and Bailee Dean all of Buckhannon; one sister, Karen Helmick of Buckhannon; one brother, Jim Ervin and wife Vickie of Buckhannon; special nephew, Howard Ogden of Buckhannon and several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Lou Tenney and one brother-in-law, Jack Helmick.

Mrs. Helmick was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was a Teacher’s Aide and one of the first employees that helped start the Island Nursery Kindergarten, where she continued to work for over 13 years. She loved everyone and was a good friend to many.

Friends will be received Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
