Parish House Community Christmas Day Dinner is takeout or delivery only again this year

Buckhannon, W.Va. — The annual Community Christmas Day Dinner hosted by the Upshur Parish House will be held again this year, however it will be takeout or delivery only. For the second year in a row, no in-person dining option will be offered due to pandemic safety concerns.

There’s still time to sign up to volunteer and help with the dinner, and there’s still time to schedule your meal delivery. No pre-order is needed for takeout meals.

Takeout meals will be available for pick-up at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 88 South Kanawha Street, Buckhannon, beginning at 11:00 am and ending at 2:00 pm, on December 25.  To schedule a meal delivery, call 681-433-6739 before December 24.

Volunteers are needed on December 25 and a few days beforehand to prepare, package, and deliver meals. All volunteers are required to wear facial coverings and gloves.  Please call 304-472-0743 and ask for Linda, if you are interested and available to volunteer.

The dinner is free of charge.  Freewill donations are accepted. Community members, businesses, churches, and organizations can make tax-deductible contributions to help cover the cost of the meal. Checks can be mailed to Upshur Parish House, 68 College Avenue, Buckhannon, WV 26201.  Please note that the gift it is earmarked for the 2021 Christmas Day Dinner.

We appreciate all those who volunteer their time and services, donate generously, and always support the mission and ministry of the Upshur Parish House and Crosslines! We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and abundant blessings in the New Year!
