Severe weather alert

The City of Buckhannon continues to experience rapidly changing winter weather conditions and low temperatures. To help keep the community safe, residents can take a few simple steps:

  • Clear sidewalks and walkways as conditions allow and use salt or traction agents to reduce refreezing
  • Avoid parking along plow routes when possible; use off-street parking so plow trucks have room to operate safely
  • Do not push or blow snow into the street, as it creates hazards and slows down cleanup efforts
  • Keep storm drains clear of slush, leaves and ice to help prevent localized flooding during rain-on-snow events
  • Check on neighbors who may need assistance with snow removal or safe access

Utility bill payments: Pay utility bills online at Municipal Online Payments or by phone at 1-866-933-4026. Setting up an account allows you to monitor your consumption.
