Mountain V Oil & Gas Company hosts ribbon-cutting to celebrate coming home to Upshur County-based headquarters

BUCKHANNON – The new primary base of operations for Mountain V Oil & Gas, Inc. officially opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting this Friday, Nov. 4.

Mike Shaver, president and owner of Mountain V Oil & Gas Inc., said the company opened in Buckhannon in 1994 but soon moved north into Harrison County.

“We grew and we were growing farther north, so we moved to Bridgeport; we were in Bridgeport for 20-some years and now we’re back here with everything under one roof,” Shaver said. “We have about 1,800 oil and natural gas wells right here in Upshur, Lewis, and Randolph counties, and a few other scattered counties.”

“We have a pipeline system here that feeds into the City of Buckhannon and feeds Mountaineer Gas into their system, so our primary base of operations is here in Buckhannon,” Shaver added.

Their new location on Fink Run Road houses all their equipment and contains their corporate office. Their Bridgeport location was housed previously on Heliport Loop Road in Bridgeport.

“We acquire and drill oil and natural gas wells in West Virginia and Pennsylvania,” Shaver said. “This is where everything’s held; this is our corporate office and central operating facilities for all equipment and everything, this is our central location.”

You can read more about the operations of Mountain V Oil & Gas, located at 144 Fink Run Road, on its website, which describes the enterprise as an energy exploration and production company operating in the Appalachian Basin.
