Mary “Jo” Beam

Mary “Jo” Beam, 76, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Sunday, December 13, 2020, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, W.Va.

She was born October 2, 1944 in Upshur County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lester Booth and Mary M. Osburn Booth who survives of Buckhannon.

On June 6, 1964, she married Marvin Beam who preceded her in death on January 31, 2004. In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Garvin “Heavy” Booth.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Robert Beam and Brenda Shuman of Grafton, W.Va.; three grandsons, RJ Beam of New Martinsville, W.Va., Brandon Alex Beam of Grafton and Joseph Hunter Beam of Buckhannon; two nieces, Georgetta Booth of Ellamore, W.Va. and Sheryl Dean and husband Wayne of Buckhannon; one nephew, Garvin Booth and wife Teresa of Moundsville, W.Va. and a special friend, Renee Fortney of Buckhannon.

Mrs. Beam was a homemaker and a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. She loved car rides and traveling to Tennessee.

Friends will be received Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Buckhannon.
