Hacker Valley Elementary School in Webster County was placed on lockdown Friday, October 23, after a man allegedly made a threat involving the school, according to a West Virginia State Police press release.

Troopers arrested Frankie Williams, 39, of Hacker Valley, that afternoon on a charge of terroristic threats, State Police said.

A complaint received by Trooper McCarty and Trooper Buzzard around 7:50 p.m. October 22 accused Williams of making threatening comments toward the school’s principal, the release said.

State Police said Williams refused to speak with troopers who went to his home and fled on foot into woods behind his home.

The next day, on October 23, Williams reportedly made another threat involving the school while at Holly River Grocery, according to the release. State Police described the lockdown as a precaution.
