Loyd Dwayne Boyce

Loyd Dwayne Boyce, 71, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Sunday, November 29, 2020, at his home.

He was born February 24, 1949 in Bluefield, W.Va., a son of the late King Victor and Reta Cora Robinson Boyce.

On March 18, 1978, he married Susan Hoover who survives of Buckhannon.

Also surviving are one daughter, Jenny Sue Boyce of Buckhannon; one son, Matthew Boyce of Buckhannon; three brothers, King Boyce, Jr., and wife Barbara of Tazewell, Va., Tim and Jamie Boyce both of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Judy Boyce, Deloris Burton and Nancy Boyce.

Mr. Boyce was a caregiver for Holbrook Health Care Center in Buckhannon. He was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church.

Loyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to church and reading his Bible. Loyd enjoyed watching Redskin and Mountaineer Football. He loved his little dogs Coco and Ginger and other dogs who have come and gone.

He was a Vietnam Veteran and he had worked at Holbrook Nursing Home and Corharts. Loyd enjoyed sitting outside on a sunny day listening to music.

Friends will be received Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Buckhannon. The Upshur County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors at the graveside.
