Lois Wright, age 90, of Westlake, Ohio, peacefully passed away on January 27, 2024.

She was born in Buckhannon to the late Hugh and Ada (née Douglas) Brake and was a fifty-year resident of the Akron, Ohio area.

She is survived by her son Jeff (Meg) Wright, grandson Trevor Wright, sister Eugenia Sedanko (brother-in-law John, deceased), sister-in-law Patty Brake (brother John, deceased), and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert Wright, sister Virginia Ihle (Charles), and brothers Wendell (Frances), Linn, Donald (Jean), and Neil (Annette) Brake.

Lois was a longtime member of Montrose Zion United Methodist Church in Akron and for many years was a volunteer assistant in the church office.

A memorial gathering will be held at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 7, followed by interment at Buckhannon Memorial Cemetery.

A judge granted the City of Buckhannon entry to two Wood Street parcels needed for a new water treatment plant on Wednesday, ruling the condemnation serves a legitimate public use. The city has valued the property at $802,500, but a legal process will determine the final value.
