BUCKHANNON – West Virginia creatives will join forces to celebrate Appalachian art at the upcoming “Spring Into Art” show hosted by Artistry on Main. Artists looking to share their work are encouraged to apply ASAP as the application deadline is March 15.
This juried craft and art show will take place April 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 24 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Buckhannon Opera House. The Opera House is snuggled into the lively Main Street scene in Buckhannon at 12 East Main Street.
“[Entering a show like “Spring Into Art”] gives [artists] experience of setting up a show – what works and what doesn’t,” said Christine Keller, president of Artistry on Main. “Doing a small show is always a good idea for a new artist, especially, because it gets your feet wet without being overwhelmed with some of the logistics of a big show.”
Current artists and volunteers of Artistry on Main are invited to participate in the show at no cost for their booth. Also, artists who participated in the 2020 show and Tamarack artists do not need to submit images of their work.
However, non-members of Artistry on Main are required to submit the following items:
- A completed and signed application.
- Three to six images of recent examples of work.
- Once accepted, there is a vendor booth fee of $50 per table (plus $10 if electricity is requested).
Applications, sample images and questions may be emailed to springintoartwv@gmail.com or brought in person to Artistry on Main at 27 East Main Street in Buckhannon.
Artist tables are limited. Don’t miss this chance to display your creative works of any kind at this exclusive, juried arts festival! Join us at the Buckhannon Opera House to ‘kickstart’ the beginning of the art show season.
