Kathy Wilson, Director of Quality & Risk Management for Broaddus Hospital, earns CPHQ certification

PHILIPPI, W.Va. – Kathy Wilson, RN, BSN, recently passed the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality exam.

Wilson is the Director of Quality & Risk Management for Broaddus Hospital. She joins nearly 15,000 individuals around the world who have earned the CPHQ.

“The CPHQ is the gold-standard credential and the only accredited certification in healthcare quality.  It validates my knowledge of healthcare quality practices and shows both mine and Broaddus Hospital’s commitment to quality care and patient safety,” said Wilson. “Despite advancements in healthcare and continual work to improve patient safety and quality of care, there still continues to be gaps with the ever changing healthcare practice.  Having achieved CPHQ Certification and possessing the knowledge I have gained through more than 12 years of quality experience, I will be able to share the tools and strategies to grow and maintain a robust facility-wide quality improvement program.”

Those who achieve the CPHQ have the fundamental knowledge, skills, and understanding of healthcare quality practices, including program development and management, performance and process improvement concepts, patient safety and population health methods, communication and leadership techniques, and data analysis and management.

CHQs are prepared to improve outcomes across the continuum of care and are invaluable leaders and contributors to the future of healthcare around the world.
