Karen D. Young

Karen D. Young, age 56, of Elkins died Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living in Elkins.

She was born August 18, 1967, in Shirley, MA. a daughter of the late Harold W. and Doris Geraldine Smith Arnold. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Steven Young and three infant children: Sarah Jewell Young (Nov. 2, 2000), James Harold Ray Young (June 13, 2001), Mariah Gale Young (November 5, 2002).

She is survived by one brother Robert Arnold and wife Stacey of Clarksburg; two sisters: Trudy

Vandevender and husband John of Montrose and Rebekah Kibbee and husband Mike of Indianapolis, IN. three nephews: Robert C. Arnold, Jonathan Arnold and Jacob Vandevender.

Karen was a very kind person, always putting others needs before her own. She worked for over twenty years as a registered nurse and loved to care for the elderly. She was an artist, wrote poetry and loved animals.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 11 am at Heavner and Cutright funeral chapel with Chaplain Robert Yothers Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
