Julia Mae Scott

Julia Mae Scott, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, May 12, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Nursing Care Facility in Buckhannon.

She was born May 19, 1935, in Volga, WV, a daughter of the late Murl W. and Virginia E. Flint Rogers.

On November 10, 1958, she married Brent T. Scott of Buckhannon who survives. Also surviving are her son,  Roger F. Scott and wife Julie of Volga; daughter, Lydia Shumway and husband Lee of Middleville, MI; three grandsons, Scott Shumway of Middleville and Jacob Scott and wife Ashlynn and Joshua Scott and wife Sarah all of Volga; one great-granddaughter, Gracelyn Mae Scott of Volga; one brother, Murl W. Rogers Jr. and wife Mary of Volga; one nephew, Thomas P. Rogers and wife Mary of Falls Church, VA; and great-niece, Erin Rogers of Falls Church.

Mrs. Scott graduated from Philippi High School in 1953, was a Lutheran by faith, and a homemaker. Julia loved music and enjoyed being in her church choir and playing the piano.

Friends will be received for a graveside service at Rock Cave Cemetery Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 2 PM with Pastor J. Edward McDaniels officiating.
