Jean Osburn, age 94, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, May 15, 2026, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon.
She was born April 6, 1932, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late John K. and Georgiana Austin Morris.
She is survived by four children, Judie Black and husband John and John Wayne Osburn and wife Suzan, all of Buckhannon; Karen Cobb of French Creek, WV; and Anna Scott and husband Richard of West Palm Beach, FL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, David Morris of Elizabeth, WV; several nieces and nephews; and her Sand Run Baptist Church family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Osburn; six siblings, Holland Morris, Rosie Bennett, Ruth Morrison, Paul Morris, Richard Morris, and Bob Morris; son-in-law, Junior Cobb; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and her dear friend, Algana Guthrie.
Mrs. Osburn was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church and a homemaker. She loved quilting, enjoyed gardening, and was famous for her homemade bread. Jean was lovingly known as the neighborhood caregiver and took pride in caring for anyone in need.
Friends will be received Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 12 p.m. (noon) to 2 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., with Pastor Greg Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Excelsior, WV.
