Helen Ann Fisher Matheny, 89, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va. passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at her residence.
Born March 16, 1931 in Buckhannon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas C. Fisher and Ada Parrish Fisher.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Buckhannon, W.Va. Helen graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College and was a member of Alpha XI Delta Sorority. She was a teacher in Montgomery County, Maryland Schools.
She is survived by three sons, Saul David Matheny, John Shayne Matheny and Steven Warren Matheny, five grandsons, Jack, Steven, David, Daniel and Jason and one granddaughter, Amanda.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack Sims Matheny and one son, Thomas Wade Matheny.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 19, 2021, 1 p.m. at Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon, W.Va. with the Rev. Stephen Meadows officiating. Burial will follow.
