Reflecting on Fall 2024 enrollment numbers, Glenville State University is trending opposite of state and national trends for college enrollment.

Comparing their Fall 2023 to Fall 2024 enrollment data, GSU saw a 10% increase in first-time freshman enrollment. According to recent data from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, national freshman undergraduate enrollment is currently declining by around 5%, with the most significant drops seen at public and private non-profit four-year institutions.

Overall enrollment at Glenville State University is up 6% from 2023. GSU has also nearly doubled its number of enrolled WV Promise Scholars. These increases are a direct result of expanding opportunities for prospective students through early college access programs, expanding institutional scholarship opportunities and minimal increases to tuition. GSU currently has the lowest resident tuition and fees among public WV institutions.
