BUCKHANNON — West Virginia Wesleyan wrapped up its 2025 football season Saturday afternoon at Cebe Ross Field, falling 56–16 to visiting Glenville State. The Bobcats generated several promising offensive drives—particularly in the second quarter—but ultimately could not keep pace with the Pioneers who totaled 613 yards of offense and scored touchdowns in every quarter.
After Glenville State opened the game with 21 unanswered first-quarter points, Wesleyan responded with its strongest offensive stretch of the afternoon.
Clarence Currin provided the Bobcats’ first score, catching an 8-yard touchdown pass from Logan Landers on the opening play of the second quarter. The 7-play, 64-yard drive featured critical completions to Joseph Triplett and Jordan Heyward, setting Currin up for the finish.
Later in the quarter, the Bobcats put together another extended drive—10 plays, 76 yards—again leaning on Currin’s tough inside running. Currin capped the series with a 1-yard touchdown plunge to bring Wesleyan within 28–13 with 7:50 left in the half.
Wesleyan added its final points late in the half when Alexander DeHart drilled a 22-yard field goal after an 11-play march, trimming the deficit to 28–16 just before the break.
Currin finished the afternoon with 34 rushing yards, a rushing touchdown, and a receiving touchdown, accounting for both Wesleyan trips to the end zone.
Wesleyan’s passing game moved the ball effectively at times, with Jordan Heyward turning in another strong performance:
Heyward: 6 receptions, 105 yards, long of 32
Triplett: 3 receptions, 48 yards

Quarterback Logan Landers went 10-for-17 for 171 yards and a touchdown, while Jaylen Bragg contributed 24 yards through the air in relief.
Linebacker Riley Slaughter anchored the Bobcat defense with a game-high 11 tackles, including several drive-stopping plays in the run game.
Sophiste Jorvelus added seven stops, while Isaiah Irvin, Anthony Battle, and Mack White each contributed at least four tackles.
A major defensive highlight came early in the fourth quarter when Victor Georges intercepted a pass in the end zone—Wesleyan’s lone takeaway on the day.
White also forced a fumble in the second quarter, though Glenville recovered.
The Pioneers relied on a balanced, up-tempo attack led by quarterback Anthony Garrett, who threw for 362 yards and five touchdowns. Jeremiah King added 129 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Glenville receivers combined for five scores through the air.
Glenville struck for three first-quarter touchdowns and scored twice in both the third and fourth quarters to keep pressure on the Bobcat defense throughout the afternoon.
With the loss, West Virginia Wesleyan closes the 2025 season at 0–11 overall. Despite the final record, the Bobcats showcased young talent on both sides of the ball and produced extended stretches of highly competitive play.
