Football Bucs prepare for Class AAA No. 1 Fairmont Senior Friday night
The Lewis-Upshur Animal Control Facility will host two free drive-up vaccine clinics in May, one in Upshur County and one in Lewis County. Funded by a $20,000 Petco Love grant, the clinics aim to curb canine parvovirus and feline panleukopenia.

No. 2 Fairmont State swept No. 3 West Virginia Wesleyan 4-0 in Saturday’s MEC semifinal in Charleston. The Falcons grabbed the doubles point and rolled through singles wins from Moens, Haruto and Liedtke to punch their ticket to the 2026 MEC Championship.
Fairmont State edged No. 3 West Virginia Wesleyan 4-3 in the MEC Women’s Tournament semifinals, clinching the doubles point and surviving a 2-2 comeback. The match came down to No. 6 singles, where Emilie Bergmann rallied in three sets to send the Falcons to the title match.
