Edmiston Breckenridge “Breck” Jones

Edmiston Breckenridge “Breck” Jones, age 92, of Rock Cave, died Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins, WV.

He was born in Cottle, WV on November 28, 1933, a son of the late Nolan Bell and Maude Lena Fleming Jones. On June 22, 1957, he was united in marriage to Delta Gathalea Sparks Jones who preceded him in death on March 2, 2020. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and his “little buddy” Shadow.

He is survived by one son Aubrey Jones and wife Stephanie of Cowen, WV; two daughters: Phala and husband Stan White of Buckhannon and Tanya and husband Jamie Westfall of Sidney, OH; nine grandchildren: Kevin, Jerrod (Ella), Jade, Jeremy (Kailyn), Jillian (Shane), Morgan (Dusty), Skyler (Katie), Dawson, and Ava (Gavin); five great grandchildren: Morgan (Wesley), Eden, Kallie, Audrey, and Brenley; two great-great grandchildren: Everlea and Parker; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Paseal Diebold.

Mr. Jones was a veteran of the US Navy and was a member of the Rock Cave Lodge No. 81 A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed tinkering, piddling, and woodworking.

At the request of the deceased, the body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor David Jessie officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Rock Cave Cemetery where the Upshur County Honor Guard will provide military honors.
