Davis Medical Center welcomes Katherine “Alex” Robbins

Elkins, W.Va. – Katherine “Alex” Robbins, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, has joined the Pain Management Center team at Davis Medical Center (DMC) in Elkins, WV.

Robbins is a Belington native, and having spent several years living and working out-of-state, says there is nothing quite like being back.

“There is nowhere I’ve been, that compares to West Virginia.  The people here are kind, and truly care for one another,” said Robbins.  “It’s great to come home and be with the people of this wonderful state,” she said.

Robbins earned an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Davis and Elkins College in 2008, and completed a Master’s of Science, Nursing, from West Virginia University in 2020.  She is currently working toward a Doctor of Nursing Practice.

She brings to Davis Medical Center a diverse set of clinical skills through her work in critical care and high-acuity medicine, and logs more than 600 hours of advanced practice nursing experience.

“We’re so pleased to have Alex join our team,” said DMC Chief Medical Officer Catherine “Mindy” Chua, DO, FAAFP, FMNM, CPE.  “It’s rewarding when we can recruit young professionals back to the area.  She is a great fit for DMC.”

At the Pain Management Center, Robbins joins physician and Medical Director Mohamed Fahim, M.D. in the diagnosis and treatment of those suffering from chronic pain.  Dr. Fahim is board certified in pain management, anesthesiology, and critical care medicine.

The Center specializes in relief from chronic pain without the use of narcotics.  Treatment is available for conditions like back pain, cancer pain, head and neck pain, joint pain, nerve pain and others.

Robbins resides in Barbour County, is married and has a daughter, age 9 and a son, age 6.  In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and being outdoors with the family horses.
