Dale Lee Hawkins

Dale Lee Hawkins, age 81, of French Creek, WV, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at home.

He was born on February 18, 1943, in Holly Grove, WV, a son of the late Archie and Lola Ruth Gillum Hawkins.

He was united in marriage on July 27, 1968, to Wanda Woodson Hawkins, who survives. In addition to his wife he is also survived by children: Brenda Hawkins and companion Bob Gilmore of Morgantown, Tina Bailey and husband Danny of French Creek, and Terry Hawkins of Selbyville; grandchildren: Morgan Bailey, Kaden, and Clay Hawkins; two foster grandchildren: Lexie Heatherly and Austin Osburn; and three foster great grandchildren: Sophia and Noah Farnsworth, and Luca Osburn; one brother Joseph Hawkins of French Creek, three sisters: Thelma Woody of Selbyville, Charlotte Leichliter and husband Gary of French Creek, and Mavis Shiflett and husband James of Buckhannon; two brothers-in-law Otto Carpenter and Edgar Bryant both of French Creek; three sisters-in-law Opal Woodson of Selbyville, Carla Harper of Buckhannon, and Tammy Ford and Husband Michael of Stonewood; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Mamie Carpenter; three sisters-in-law Sharon Hawkins, Deloris Bryant, and Christa Woodson; six brothers-in-law: Carl Woody, Forrest Eugene Woodson, Elmer Woodson, Jerry Woodson, Ab Woodson, and Bryan Harper.

Dale worked for Corhart Refractories for 38 years.

The body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
