A Buckhannon man was arrested after allegedly grabbing a woman by the throat with both hands and choking her during an argument. Bail was set at $15,000 cash only, according to a criminal complaint filed in Upshur County Magistrate Court.

Sherman E. “Gene” Bryant, 76, of Buckhannon, died March 3, 2026, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was a U.S. Army veteran who loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, and his family—especially his grandchildren.

Donald Lee Gregory, 61, of Rock Cave, WV, passed away on February 26, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He is survived by his children, siblings, grandchildren, and extended family.
