Claudius Wayne Mills

Claudius Wayne Mills, 82, of Buckhannon, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

He was born December 4, 1938, at Sand Run, the son of Ray and Stada Cutright Mills of Sand Run.

On March 15, 1957, he married Lora Margaret Robinson, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Kevin Mills and wife Denise of Buckhannon; one daughter-in-law, Melodie Mills of Buckhannon; one grandson, Wayne Mills and wife Brandi of Buckhannon; five granddaughters, Shanda Hoover and husband James of Buckhannon, Elizabeth Quick and husband Jeremy of Buckhannon, Jese Exline and husband Travis of Georgia, Rachel Cuppari and husband Joe of Buckhannon and Sarah Godwin and husband Eric of Clarksburg; five great-grandsons, Nathan, Maddux, Prescott, Roman and Jett; five great-granddaughters, Emma, Catie, Ariana, Isabella and Rylee and one sister, Helen Corley of Mabie, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Stada Mills; son, Jeffrey Wayne Mills and sister, Loueda Lamb.

Mr. Mills worked at Dexcar Queen Coal Co., Mountaineer Foods, Moore Business Forms and then Martin Oil, where he retired from. He enjoyed driving truck, spending time with his family, bird watching and mowing the grass. He attended Christian Fellowship Church for 40 years.

Friends will be received Friday, June 11, 2021, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Christian Fellowship Church. A funeral service will be held at noon at the church with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Cemetery in Excelsior, W.Va.
