Celebrate Independence Day Weekend on the Hill

LKINS – Food, fireworks and favorites in music from yesterday and today come together for the Independence Day weekend celebration July 6 at Davis & Elkins College.

The events are sponsored by the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber, Davis & Elkins College, Elkins Main Street, Randolph County Commission, the city of Elkins, Anytime Fitness, National Management Resources Corporation, Elkins-Randolph County Tourism and Mountain State Street Machines.

A barbecue dinner with proceeds benefitting the D&E Student Veterans Association will be served from 6:30-8 p.m. on Halliehurst porch. A cash bar is included. Seating is limited and reservations are required by June 29 online at www.dewv.edu/campus-events.

Bring your lawn chair and blanket to enjoy a free concert and fireworks. Santa Cruz Band takes to the stage at the D&E Outdoor Amphitheatre at 8 p.m. Hailing from Charleston, West Virginia, the seven-piece high energy band plays a variety of hits from the Motown Era, 70s, 80s and today.

Fireworks will light up the sky at approximately 10 p.m.
