Carol Sue Walton

Carol Sue Walton, 76, of Buckhannon, died peacefully at her home after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, July 24, 2021. 

She was born on December 29, 1944, in Grafton, W.Va., a daughter of the late James V. and Alice Virginia Host Newlon.  She was united in marriage on June 4, 2000, to Willis Gay Walton who preceded her in death on October 24, 2020.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son Michael Lee Wolfe and two brothers:  Jerry and James Junior Newlon. 

She is survived by one daughter Roxanne and husband Virgil Tacy of Buckhannon; one son Jamie Alexander and companion Adrian Twigg of Buckhannon; four grandchildren: Cody Tacy and fiancée Angela Radcliff of Shinnston, Chad Tacy, Ellie Alexander, and Leah Wolfe, all of Buckhannon; one great grandson Gavin Wolfe; one brother Randy Newlon of Grafton; five sisters:  Linda and husband Dale Watkins of Grafton, Dee and husband Steve Heavner of Ohio, Janet and husband Steve Edwards of Grafton, Wanda Knotts of Grafton, and Lisa and husband John Rouse of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.

Carol was a Methodist by faith.

Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from 4-6 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Mike Wamsley officiating.  Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Grafton.
