Upshur County is hiring a seasonal director to run the Buckhannon-Upshur Recreational Park this summer, with applications due by close of business March 27.
The Upshur County Commission is accepting applications for a temporary, full-time Pool/Park Director for the position, which runs from early May through mid-August. The director will oversee park and pool facilities, including a hot/cold concession stand. Duties include employee scheduling, revenue and expense tracking, maintaining records of operations and chemical inventory, managing and administering pool chemicals, supply orders, food inventory and ordering, and oversight of cleanliness and sanitation of facilities.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to deal with the public, knowledge of food preparation, sanitation and hygiene, knowledge of purchasing and budgeting procedures, and the ability to supervise and motivate others.
A Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license, food handlers’ card, and CPR/First Aid certifications are required. These licenses may be obtained following a successful interview. Successful applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
