Rev. Bobbie Rogers

Rev. Bobbie Rogers, age 70, of Buckhannon, WV departed this life on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon.

She was born October 30, 1954, in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late Rev. Kenneth and Naomi Wayne Cruikshanks. On June 24, 1976, she married Robert Lee Rogers who preceded her in death on May 24, 2009. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Kenneth Wayne Cruikshanks.

Bobbie was Mama to Beth Rogers, Roberta Samples and husband Ken, Shasta Rogers-Kelley, and Crystal Blankenship; Nana to Emily Jozwick, and Matthew, Olivia, and Joshua Blankenship; and Hippie Grammie to Dakota Kelley and Elana Kelley-Snyder. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and beloved dog, Gizmo.

Before being called into ministry, Bobbie held a wide range of jobs including a police officer at Burnsville, a teacher at Upshur County Christian Academy, a receptionist at St. Joseph’s Hospital and a tax preparer at H&R Block. However, Bobbie’s main focus was her faith, family, and friends. She began her service to the church early, playing piano in the services her father pastored. She continued to serve as a church musician for many years before being called into the ministry herself. Bobbie was ordained as a local pastor in the WV United Methodist Conference. She served at the Lorentz UMC, West Buckhannon UMC and Mt. Lebanon UMC before moving to Elkins where she served at Wayside UMC and Kynette UMC until her retirement in 2019. Her personality was larger than life with a laugh that was infectious.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to WV Hospice, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Holbrook Healthcare, Dr. Susan Long, and Dr. Amy Pearson for their loving care.

Friends will be received Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Chad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Weston, WV.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
