Loren Matthew Wimer

Loren Matthew Wimer, 58, of Ireland, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston.

He was born in Buckhannon on July 11, 1966, a son of the late Lawrence Edward Wimer and Wanda Joy Ware Wimer. Along with his parents, Loren was preceded in death by two sisters: Linda Claypoole and Cindy Lou Wimer; and three nephews: Gabriel Wimer-Sprouse, Keiran Claypoole, and Lawrence Wimer.

Forever cherishing their memories of Loren are his wife, Angel Wimer; two children: Lance Matthew Wimer and Ashley Nichole Wimer both of Walkersville; two brothers: Lawrence Wimer and wife, Anita, of Ireland and Lester Michael Wimer and wife, Anna Mae, of Walkersville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of uncles and aunts.

Loren, a 1984 graduate of Braxton County High School, was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His love for the outdoors was boundless, and he often sought solace in hunting and fishing. A self-proclaimed mamma’s boy, he wore that title proudly, cherishing the bond he shared with his loving mother. Loren found his joy in the wilderness, and his passion for life was as vast as the forests he loved.

His work as a logger allowed him to combine his love for nature with his livelihood, showcasing his dedication to his craft. When not in the great outdoors, Loren could often be found tinkering in his garage, another testament to his hands-on approach, and his ability to find joy in the smallest of tasks.
