B-UMS XC teams end season at WI Last Call Invitational

CLARKSBURG – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School cross-country Little Bucs and Little Lady Bucs wrapped up their 2023 season at the Washington Irving Last Call Invitational at Robert C. Byrd High School Saturday morning.

The Little Lady Bucs finished third while the Little Bucs placed seventh.

The Little Lady Bucs ended the meet with 78 points. South won the team title with 62 points.

Mayden Fletcher of Elkview won the individual crown with a time of 13:12.35.

For the Little Lady Bucs, they had two runners finish in the top 10 as Lena Rose Walker placed eighth with a time of 15:34.84 while Gwendolyn Rogosky was ninth with a clocking of 15:35.60.

The rest of the B-UMS line-up were Chloe Lewis in 21^st (16:23.23), Madison Knabenshue in 22^nd (16:27.85), Makenna Marsh in 23^rd (16:31.53), Isabella Bowers in 28^th (16:55.90) and Mya Loudin in 29^th (16:59.17).

The Little Bucs placed seventh with 197 points.

South won the team title with 30 points.

Parker Muncy of Bridgeport on the boy’s race with a time of 12:43.37.

Kenton Stump was the top B-UMS runner, finishing 21^st with a clocking of 14:36.27.

The rest of the team was Briston Hyre in 30^th (15:09.36), Lucas Fortney in 38^th (15:41.35), Kylan Hedrick in 57^th (16:48.79), Rease Zirkle in 60^th (17:07.99) and Grayson Malcolm in 62^nd (17:13.70).
