B-UHS recognizes Cook and Burch during Military Signing Week

Jenkins Ford’s fourth annual car show will benefit pancreatic cancer research Sept. 19 in Buckhannon. The event features raffles, trivia, prizes, survivor recognition and more than 25 trophies, with proceeds supporting PanCAN.

Step back 200 years at Blennerhassett Island’s Mansion by Candlelight on October 9-10, with sternwheeler rides, lantern-lit tours, period entertainment and folklore. Tickets are on sale now, and a Harvest Supper can be added by advance reservation.

Chloe Lewis and Carter Haney are the Hank Ellis All-Stars for Aug. 31–Sept. 6. Lewis led the Lady Bucs to a cross-country team title at home, while Haney anchored the boys’ soccer defense in two shutout wins.

Audrey Johnston won Buckhannon-Upshur’s home invitational by more than 30 seconds, finishing in 14:53.2. Taylor Wright placed fourth as the Little Lady Bucs took second behind Elkins.

Felix Stump won the B-U Invitational boys’ title in 12:34.8, leading Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School to a runaway team victory. The Little Bucs placed three runners in the top four and scored 29 points, well ahead of Lincoln’s 75.
