ART 26201’s ’20th Century Masters’ art exhibit to feature Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns and more

BUCKHANNON — ART 26201’s next exhibition, 20th CENTURY MASTERS, starts Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the M.I.B. GALLERY in the Colonial Arts Center, with an opening reception from 4 to 8 p.m.

This show will feature a portfolio of modern prints, on loan from West Virginia Wesleyan College, that include major works from influential 20th century artists: Stanley William Hayter, Jasper Johns, Ellsworth Kelly, Alexander Liberman, Roy Lichtenstein, Andre Masson, Robert Motherwell, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, Saul Steinberg, Frank Stella, and even Andy Warhol.

To celebrate this impressive exhibition, one of the great modern painters of our time, Chuck Olson, will speak at 5 p.m. to provide a brief overview of the significance of the collection. Reservations are recommended for Olson’s introduction, and they can be emailed to info@ART26201.com.

All events at the M.I.B. Gallery are free and open to the public. The gallery is located at 48 E. Main St. in Buckhannon

Man arrested for DUI after February crash on Route 33 causes juvenile to suffer brain bleed

A 39-year-old man was arrested last week in relation to a February incident where he allegedly rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light, causing a juvenile passenger to be flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital with a brain bleed.
