Almost Heaven sticker-sharing campaign to continue

The West Virginia Tourism Office today announced the continuation of its 155th state birthday campaign. The campaign features exclusive Almost Heaven stickers and encourages both residents and visitors to explore all of the attractions, businesses and events that make West Virginia Almost Heaven.

“After the overwhelmingly positive response and requests for more stickers across the state, we decided there is no reason we can’t continue sharing our love for West Virginia all summer long,” Tourism Commissioner Chelsea Ruby said. “The Mountain State is blessed with incredible summertime destinations, must-see scenic stops and uniquely West Virginia events, and we want everyone to continue visiting, exploring and helping to boost tourism in their local communities this summer.”

To date, the Tourism Office has distributed more than 25,000 stickers to over 250 official sticker stops across all nine travel regions in West Virginia. And the requests for more just keep coming.

As such, the Tourism Office has another batch of stickers on the way and will be fulfilling outstanding requests for more stickers, as well as sending stickers to more than 75 tourism businesses registered as new stickers stops for the coming summer months.

“Our tourism industry spans far and wide, and our official sticker stops run the full gamut. From local restaurants and boutiques to world-class resorts and summer adventure destinations, there are plenty of places to pick up a sticker and have a little Almost Heaven summer fun while you’re at it.”

When you celebrate at a West Virginia destination, take a photo and post it on social media using the #AlmostHeaven hashtag. As the photos, posts and tweets come in, the Tourism Office will be sending out surprise Almost Heaven gift bags to a few randomly selected West Virginia fans. Photos must be made public and use #AlmostHeaven to be included in the drawing. Make sure to try and include your Almost Heaven sticker in the picture!

To find a sticker stop near you, visit our interactive map at WVtourism.com/WV155. In addition to a list of all participating locations, the map includes suggestions for nearby activities, attractions and events. Out-of-state fans who want to participate can request a sticker online.
