Buckhannon woman sentenced for methamphetamine distribution

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Ann Marie Stankus, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, was sentenced today to 42 months incarceration for distributing methamphetamine, United States Attorney Bill Powell announced Wednesday.

Stankus, 25, pled guilty to one count of “Aiding and Abetting the Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine” in February 2019. Stankus admitted to working with another to distribute methamphetamine in December 2017 in Upshur County.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Greater Harrison Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated.

U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided.
