BUCKHANNON – You might have noticed construction in front of the Brake’s Dairy King plaza.
City of Buckhannon Director of Public Works Jerry Arnold said workers are installing a new 12-inch water line that is part of the water distribution system that the Atlantic Coast Pipeline is funding.
ACP-funded enhancements to the city’s water distribution system are expected to total nearly $2 million.
Arnold said the Atlantic Coast Pipeline paid for the waterline for their testing and to provide them with water whenever they need it.
Arnold said the project has three construction sites; one was on Brushy Fork Road, and it has been completed. The other location is next to Pizza Hut, under the turnpike.
“We are anticipating the whole project to be completed by the end of March,” Arnold said. “That section next to Dairy King will most likely be finished in the next week or so.”
Blue Ridge Construction, based out of French Creek, is completing the construction, and he said next week the city will replace the sidewalk that was across from Sheetz.
