Upshur County 4-H and FFA exhibitors capped a year of work with three days of competition July 30-August 1. The 2026 Upshur County Youth Livestock Show and Sale was held at the UCYLA Livestock Barn behind Buckhannon-Upshur High School.
The show opened July 30 with honey, poultry and rabbit projects. Market goat and lamb exhibitors competed July 31. The final day featured market hog and beef shows, overall showmanship and an awards ceremony, followed by the market animal sale at 6:30 p.m. August 1.
According to the Upshur County Extension Office, exhibitors spent the previous year raising and caring for their market livestock projects, attending educational meetings, completing project books, tracking expenses and maintaining animal health records.
