As the government shutdown continues to impact our local federal employees, Fairmont State University will host a second Federal Employee Appreciation Day on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 2-6 p.m.

“We had a great turn out for our event last Saturday and as the shutdown continues so will our hospitality,” said President Mirta Martin. “We want to continue to support these families by welcoming them to our home and inviting them to enjoy a meal, family activities and time to be together – without worrying about the cost.”

The event will be held in Gym 2 in the Falcon Center for federal employees and their families. In addition to the activities offered last week, a WVU watch party and a children’s movie with popcornwill also be offered.  Meal tickets will again be available for our dining hall between 3-6 p.m.

The Department of Athletics will continue to offer free admission for federal employees during upcoming men’s and women’s basketball and acrobatics & tumbling events until the shutdown comes to an end. For a list of upcoming games please visit fightingfalcons.com.
